GaleMed Corporation has announced that it has successfully obtained ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), reinforcing its commitment to responsible material sourcing and transparent supply chain management. This globally recognized certification framework ensures the traceability of bio-based materials through stringent governance and the Mass Balance approach.
With decades of experience in respiratory care, GaleMed continues to invest in advanced materials and product innovation. Its newly introduced BioVent-Circuit® integrates sugarcane-based materials into its polymer composition, supported by a proprietary LDPE and EVA formulation. The use of sugar cane as the main source of ethanol rather than fossil fuel leads to a significantly improved CO2 footprint during manufacturing which also provides potential price benefit vs fossil fuel-based circuits that are linked to fluctuating oil prices.
The unique mix of bio plastic and conventional plastic enhances flexibility, transparency, and structural stability, while achieving key attributes such as plasticizer-free composition, low extractables, and high biocompatibility—supporting product safety and clinical reliability.
Through ISCC PLUS certification, GaleMed further strengthens supply chain traceability, enabling independently verifiable sourcing and allocation of bio-based materials.
